Each spring, the biggest power brokers in the global economy come together to tackle central issues facing the world at the meetings of the IMF and World Bank. Of course, there’s traditional news coverage of what happens inside of these elite conclaves, but here at Semafor, we’re going one step further.
Today, we’ve opened registration for the 2024 World Economy Summit — our boldest venture in live journalism yet and the only major media event to be held against the backdrop of the IMF and World Bank meetings, taking place in Washington, D.C. on April 17-18.
Last year, Semafor drove global headlines with our inaugural summit – this year, we’re going even bigger and we’re thrilled to unveil our speaker line-up featuring 100 global leaders on the record, including:

Former U.S. Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker and Carlyle Group Co-Founder David Rubenstein will co-chair the event and act as key advisors to the program. The summit, hosted by Semafor’s editors, will take place over two days at Gallup’s Great Hall and The Mellon Auditorium.
