The world has a new humanoid robotics leader.

Shanghai-based AgiBot surpassed the output of fellow Chinese robot maker Unitree in the first half of the year, shipping 8,400 humanoids and capturing 44% of the global market, according to a report from US-based firm Smart Analytics Global.

That’s more than Unitree shipped in all of 2025, when it led the pack, showing the rapid growth of the industry as humanoids are increasingly used for entertainment and research. While China is dominating the hardware market, accounting for 97% of global humanoid shipments in the first half of the year, experts say European and American labs are leading in the development of robots’ “brains.”
