Lara Setrakian is an award-winning journalist and think tank executive based in the United Arab Emirates. She served as the CEO of News Deeply, a digital media company focused on critical global issues. Her flagship platform, Syria Deeply, produced groundbreaking coverage of the Syrian Civil War and was recognized with The National Press Foundation’s Excellence in Online Journalism Award. Previously Lara was based in the Middle East as a foreign correspondent for ABC News and Bloomberg Television. She is a graduate of Harvard University, an Alumni Fellow of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, and a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
